Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik

WILL DELIVER TWO LECTURES AT YOUNG ISRAEL OF SOUTHFIELD SUNDAY EVENING, JUNE 17TH

Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik received his semicha (ordination) from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University and a PhD from Princeton University in Religion. He directs Yeshiva University’s Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought and is the spiritual leader of Congregation Shearith Israel, the oldest Jewish congregation in the US. Rabbi Soloveichik will give two lectures at Young Israel of Southfield, both related to the influence of Jews on early America: “Three Civil War Seders: A Study in Jewish Identity” and “The Founding Father at the Chupah: A Tale of a Revolutionary Jewish Wedding.”
